No two relationships look the same, and I don’t think they should be photographed the same way either. Every couple has their own routines, inside jokes, and ways of being together...and that’s what these sessions are really about. Documenting your love, in the ways only you share.
It's about the things you already love doing together. Like going to a pumpkin patch, then carving jack-o-lanterns. S’mores around a campfire. Recreating a favorite date night. Swimming in a river on a hot day. Walking along the edge of the water at the beach and sinking your toes into the sand. Apple picking in the fall, then baking together in the kitchen—maybe getting a little messy with the flour. Adventuring in the snow, then warming up inside. Couples boudoir for those seeking something playful and steamy, either as its own session or woven into the end of an evening.
Your relationship deserves to be photographed with the same care you bring to each other. I'd be honored to help.
I approach sessions the way you would a film, and a lot of what makes it all work happens long before the camera comes out. I plan around light and how it shifts, the location, outfit styling, which compositions will feel the most interesting, and where it makes sense to weave in a few portraits.
When I say cinematic, I’m talking about a stylistic approach. Intention in how an image looks and feels, how shadows fall, how people interact within a scene, and how the images work together once they’re finished. And of course, editing.
When I say documentary, I’m talking about what the session is built around. The time you’re spending together. The routines, activities, or shared experiences that already exist in your relationship. Sessions aren’t driven by a list of poses.
John and Olson opted for a session in the water to stay cool during the summer, while also showing off their tattoos.
Alex and Amber spent a lot of time on the water during their early summers together. The night of their engagement, they hopped into a canoe on the lake and paddled under the stars.
Macaela and Matt wanted something cozy during the winter, so we scouted a location, built a fire, put up lights and lanterns, laid down blankets, and then asked them to just cuddle up and spend time together.
Colleen and Adam really wanted to have a spooky engagement session, so the session happened normally...except a masked figure photobombed in the background of every shot.
If this approach feels right for your relationship, I’d love to work together!

Comfort comes first
Most people feel a little awkward in front of the camera at first. That’s normal and totally ok! You don’t need to know what to do or how to act. I'll direct you as needed, and let me know if you ever need more guidance.
Steam level is always up to you, and nothing goes beyond what feels comfortable.
1. Choose a session length: The Short Story (45 min), The Chapter (90 min), or The Full Story (3+ hours).
2. Inquire: You reach out and tell me a bit about your crew! Ages, personalities, the general level of chaos we’re working with and ideas you have in mind.
3. Prepare together: I’ll help build a plan for the session based on your answers, including locations, outfits, lighting, etc. so everything is cohesive.
4. The session: I'll bring my camera, you'll bring you, and we'll document your story together.
5. Gallery delivery: I’ll curate and edit your images and deliver a full online gallery, ready to download, share, and print.
We were so comfortable in front of the camera!
"Martin's sense of humor - just a naturally funny guy and he made us feel relaxed on a crazy hectic day. Also, his SKILLS straight-up, Martin is a true artist. His ability to use light effectively in challenging lighting scenarios is phenomenal. Nick and I were so comfortable in front of the camera."
I put a lot of care into the images we create together, and I also care about being transparent about what it costs. These packages reflect the time, planning, and editing required to craft images that'll last 100+ years.

Yes. I always make time for a handful of those. The majority of the session is spent documenting what your family is doing together. And I’ll step in to guide when it helps, with the goal of making the camera easy to forget about.
If we’re moving between locations, travel time doesn’t count against your session. That said, locations should be reasonably close to one another. The goal is to document a connected stretch of your day, not spend hours in the car.
Each session includes travel time from me to you. For example, the Short Story covers up to an hour of travel each way. If additional travel is needed beyond that, travel time is charged at $50 per hour. So if you're 2 hours away from me, it would be $100 added to the package.
These sessions tend to resonate with families who want to document a chapter of life rather than just smile at the camera and be done. It’s a good fit if you value candid photographs, spending intentional time together, and want images that tell a story.
Dogs are absolutely welcome. I am, unfortunately, severely allergic to cats. For in-home sessions, this would require a very thorough cleaning beforehand (vacuuming, air purifiers, etc.). An Airbnb or a backyard session are great alternatives and still keep things comfortable and familiar.
Extended family can absolutely be included when everyone is participating in an activity together. If you’re ONLY looking for traditional group portraits with everyone smiling at the camera, I’m probably not the best fit. My focus is on documenting interaction.
